RIODAS Architecture Studio was founded in 2023 by architects Miguel Rionda and Rafael Partidas with a shared vision to create refined, contemporary architecture that reflects the sophistication, climate, and lifestyle of South Florida. Based in Key Biscayne, the firm was established to provide a highly personalized architectural practice dedicated to design excellence, precision, and thoughtful collaboration.
Drawing on years of professional experience, the partners founded the studio with the belief that exceptional architecture emerges from a careful balance of creativity, technical rigor, and an understanding of place. RIODAS Architecture Studio approaches each project as a unique opportunity to craft spaces that are both elegant and enduring, responding to the region’s coastal environment, natural light, and indoor–outdoor way of living.
The studio works throughout South Florida, serving communities from Hollywood through Miami and down to Pinecrest, as well as westward to Doral. Within this dynamic and diverse context, the firm has developed a design approach that emphasizes clean lines, carefully proportioned spaces, and a refined material palette suited to the subtropical climate.

FOUNDERS
RIODAS Architecture Studio was founded by architects Miguel Rionda and Rafael Partidas, whose partnership brings together diverse cultural influences and a shared commitment to refined, contemporary design. With professional roots spanning the Northeast United States, Latin America, and South Florida, the founders combine technical rigor, international perspective, and a deep understanding of the region’s climate and lifestyle. United by a belief that architecture should be both timeless and responsive to its environment, Rionda and Partidas established the studio to deliver carefully crafted projects defined by clarity of design, thoughtful detailing, and close collaboration with clients, consultants, and builders.
The name RIODAS is derived from the combination of the founders’ last names—Rionda and Partidas—reflecting the collaborative foundation of the practice. The name symbolizes the partnership between the two architects and the shared vision that brought the studio into existence. Just as the name merges two distinct identities, the firm’s work represents the synthesis of complementary perspectives, experiences, and design sensibilities that guide RIODAS Architecture Studio.
Together, they lead the studio’s work across South Florida, designing projects from waterfront residences in Key Biscayne and Keystone Islands to homes and developments throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County.

Miguel Rionda
Founding Partner
Miguel Rionda is a founding partner of RIODAS Architecture Studio. Born in New Jersey and raised with deep Miami roots, his architectural perspective is shaped by both the cultural energy of South Florida and the design rigor of the Northeast.
Miguel studied architecture at the Boston Architectural College, where he developed a strong foundation in design, construction methodology, and technical execution. Following his education, he gained valuable professional experience working with several respected architecture firms in the Boston area. During this time, he contributed to a range of complex projects and developed a reputation for disciplined design thinking, rigorous detailing, and a deep understanding of the technical aspects of building.
In the early 2000s, Miguel relocated to Miami, returning to the region that had long been central to his personal and cultural identity. Over the years, he has built extensive experience navigating the construction realities of South Florida, from coastal environmental conditions to the technical demands of modern residential architecture.
Miguel brings a particular strength in the technical side of architectural practice, with a focus on precise construction documentation, thoughtful material assemblies, and careful attention to architectural detailing. His work bridges design and construction, ensuring that the architectural intent of each project is carried through to the built result with clarity and precision.
As co-founder of RIODAS Architecture Studio, Miguel contributes a refined design sensibility and a strong technical foundation to the firm’s work. His approach emphasizes clarity of form, disciplined detailing, and construction strategies that allow architecture to be both elegant and enduring.
Rafael Partidas
Founding Partner
Rafael Partidas is a founding partner of RIODAS Architecture Studio. Born in Eugene, Oregon, and raised in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Rafael grew up in a family deeply connected to the design professions as the son of both an architect and a landscape architect. This early exposure fostered a lasting appreciation for architecture, landscape, and the relationship between built form and the natural environment.
Rafael studied architecture at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), one of Latin America’s most historically significant architectural institutions. During his time there, he developed a strong foundation in architectural design, urban thinking, and the integration of architecture with art and landscape. After graduating, he remained involved in academia, teaching architectural design studios at UCV, where he mentored students and further refined his approach to design, spatial composition, and architectural discourse.
In 2014, Rafael relocated to Miami, bringing with him an international perspective shaped by both North and South American architectural traditions. Shortly after arriving, he began collaborating with Miguel Rionda, forming a professional partnership grounded in shared values of thoughtful design, technical clarity, and architectural integrity.
As co-founder of RIODAS Architecture Studio, Rafael contributes a design-driven approach that emphasizes proportion, spatial experience, and the careful integration of architecture with landscape and climate. His work reflects a commitment to contemporary architecture that is both refined and responsive to the unique environmental and cultural context of South Florida.
